Burnley is revving up for a day of entertainment as the Burnley Vintage and Performance Car Show returns to the town centre. Taking place on 14th September from 11am – 4pm, visitors can expect an array of classic and retro vehicles on show from St James Street, all the way down to Curzon Street.
Following the success of last year’s show, this year is set to be even bigger and better. Alongside the engines and alloys, visitors can expect an array of entertainment, from an exciting car-themed trail with prizes to be won, to live music from a brass band providing a buzzing atmosphere throughout the day.
Visitors can also meet Optimus Prime at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm, who will be eyeing up the competition and sniffing out any Decepticons hiding in the ranks, or riding some of the children’s rides down on Curzon Street. Imperial Alliance Stormtroopers will also be present on the day, and visitors can have their picture taken with Darth Vader!
For those who own vintage or performance vehicles, or classic and performance motorcycles that they would like to exhibit at the event, registrations are now open.
Burnley Vintage and Performance Car Show 2024 is being brought to the town centre by Burnley Business Improvement District with the support of The Rotary Club of Burnley. Burnley BID is hoping to get businesses involved with the theme and spirit of the show this year and encourage attendees to visit and support businesses in the town centre.
Gordon Salthouse, BID Board Member, stated:
“Our Vintage and Performance Car Show 2023 was a resounding success with almost 70 vehicles on show and a significant increase in footfall and dwell time in the town centre.
“We are now preparing to launch our third Vintage and Performance Car Show which will take place on Saturday 14th September 2024. Record entries are expected, so to avoid disappointment we’d recommend registering early. To enhance the event, we would also like to encourage classic and performance motorcycles to join us and help to create a spectacular show.”
